"the views of the Caribbean from the house were breathtaking"

Villa Fairview was more beautiful than any picture or website could reveal. Saba truly is the “unspoiled queen” of the Caribbean and we thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our stay. The location of Villa Fairview was perfect. With a simple 5 minute walk down the hill, we reached the Windwardside of the island where all the main restaurants, grocery stores, and shops were located. Not only was the house centrally located, but it’s nestled back along a ridge and away from the road. We had complete privacy for a week, and the views of the Caribbean from the house were breathtaking. As much as we enjoyed exploring the island, part of us never wanted to leave the house! Villa Fairview was stocked with all the necessities to make us feel at home, such as “his” and “hers” robes, floats for the pool, and an ice bucket to keep our wine chilled while we laid poolside.

Before our travels, Hans provided us with all the necessary information we needed for our stay. On the day of our travel, our airline canceled our connecting flight which delayed our arrival to Saba by an entire day. Hans was gracious enough to guide us on where to stay at St. Maarten as well as giving us restaurant recommendations. Cedric and Luz were there to greet us when we finally arrived Saba, and Hans was kind enough to have a bottle of white wine chilled in the refrigerator waiting for us.

My husband and I agreed that we will visit Saba again, and without a question, Villa Fairview was half of what made our visit unforgettable. The other half was attributed to the kind and friendly Sabanians and the lush, unspoiled beauty of the island. Thank you, Hans and Yvonne, for making our first week as newlyweds more magical and memorable than we could have ever dreamt it to be. We plan on visiting again very soon!

"Saba has found 4 new big fans"

It is such a wonderful green island and the Villa Fairview is absolutely amazing! We enjoyed the two weeks very much and hope to return sometime in future. The pictures on this website definitely tell the truth - every day, we were anew impressed by the view from the pool area and the terrace of Villa Fairview. The weather was not always as warm and dry as it could be - but who cares? Cedric was really kind, came along one day and another and helped when we needed it. The cleaning service was also very good.
The Tropics Café was our favourite restaurant, where we had dinner on several evenings - they served so excellent food!
Diving was also really fantastic and Saba's underwater landscape is excellent for underwater photography. We did our dives with Sea Saba, which is a highly recommendable dive center. They were so kind and helpful - we were really impressed.
Hiking on Saba is a unique experience and it definitely makes you fit! We walked several trails and the Sandy Cruz Trail, which was our favourite, is really amazing. Also our daily shopping routine made us fit. As we didn’t rent a car, we carried our shopping uphill to Villa Fairview... :-)
Our time on Saba was absolutely wonderful and we highly recommend staying at Villa Fairview, which is one of the most beautiful places to relax and enjoy one’s holidays.

"We highly recommend both Saba and the Villa Fairview"

Saba is a unique, mountainous, 'undiscovered' island that our family found to be the perfect site for spending Christmas vacation last year. We enjoyed terrific local dining, hiking, and excellent scuba diving. Villa Fairview is perched on a cliff with spectacular views of the Caribbean beyond the swimming pool, and of misty Mount Scenery beyond the dining porch. We became PADI-certified with Sea Saba, who came to the villa for instruction and pool drives and took us out for our open dives. We could easily walk to town for meals and shopping. We highly recommend both Saba and the Villa Fairview.

"also very convenient"

My family and I stayed at the Villa Fairview over the Easter week. We had an outstanding vacation experience at the Villa. We have stayed in many properties around the world (Hawaii, Cayman Islands, Austria, Paris, etc.) and the Villa is among the very best. The owners Hans and Yvonne were very nice and quick to respond to any questions or requests that we had about the villa. The house managers of the villa, Cedric and Luz, greeted us when we arrived and were very gracious hosts. They gave us a tour and showed us where everything was, and made us feel comfortable. Whenever we asked for something, for example to use the grill, Cedric always showed up within 15 minutes to provide us with what we needed. This is better service than a lot of hotels. It was also very nice to have a person that you knew on the island in case you would need assistance for any reason.

The property is beautiful. I am always very concerned about the accommodations that I choose for our vacations in terms of cleanliness, amenities, convenience. My perspective is that a vacation should be enjoyed and free from worries. The Villa Fairview provides this. First, it was immaculately clean. The décor is perfect for the setting. Hans and Yvonne have decorated the Villa in what I would call a modern tropical motif, with artwork and very stylish furniture. They have also kept the character of the house, as I believe it has some history to it on the island. You will NOT find the white lawn furniture here that I have seen at many Caribbean properties that are in the same price category as the Villa. Everything in the villa is tasteful and new. The kitchen has all the modern amenities that are needed. I enjoyed the walk in shower, and the bedrooms have very comfortable large beds. My parents stayed in the lower apartment so they could have their own bathroom, and it was equally as nice as the top floor. It was also very nice that they had their own entrance and privacy in the lower unit.

The grounds are stunning. The Villa is at the end of a drive on the top of a hill that overlooks the town of Windwardside to the right, and then the ocean and mountains of Saba are directly in front. It is a very private villa since you can only get to it from one road. I did not want to leave the pool area. It was relaxing to view the ocean and Mount Scenery. It has a stone backing with a very nice built in stone table where you can dine outside. At night, they have placed lights everywhere. It is very beautiful and peaceful. There is a gazebo right next to the pool with comfortable lounge chairs, and also on the stone deck of the pool, there is a table with umbrella next to more lounge chairs. Everything you need for the pool is available. They even have a little table that comes out from the base of the pool if you want to enjoy a drink or set something on a table while in the pool. There is also a hot-tub next to the pool. The view is spectacular. The photos that Hans and Yvonne have on the website are completely accurate. It is that beautiful.

The Villa is also very convenient, as we did not need a car, and just needed to walk down the hill to Windwardside. It is a ten minute walk. If you have a lot of groceries, you can either get your daily exercise or there are taxis all over town to take you back up the hill. For such a small island, there are a lot of restaurants to choose from in town. You can also order fresh lobster from the Bottom from the fishermans catch that day. We highly suggest going to the Ecolodge. At night, you need to take a taxi to it, or if you go during the day, you could hike. It is one of the nicest experiences that I have had at a restaurant. The food was excellent. You can tell the taxi driver when you will be ready to go,
